Micheal's opening letter for the Nov 15 listings is very special. We have an amazing community and as one who "gets it", I feel very proud to be part of it. Thank you Micheal for all!

Someone from the forum once asked me what a road rally is like. I said, "take the spirit of generosity, comradery, and sharing on the forum and put it on speed x 10,000".

Music is a business like all others. A great deal of it is about PEOPLE and RELATIONSHIPS. Everyone who "gets that", ends up better off in some way whether it's your first forward, your first library deal, your first real placement, a theme song on TV, or a six-figure living... The community helps you get better.

When I got home from the rally I had an email from a Taxi member I didn't really know, thanking me for all the helpful info I put on the forum to help them get ready for the rally. It was very touching. :D I mentioned it to our good friend Chuck Schlacter (crs7string) who said, "We are standing on the shoulders of a giant", meaning Matt Hirt (matto). So true... No one has led by example as far as selflessness, generosity and sharing more that Matt. So thank you Matt! 8-)

The community rocks!
:) Casey

Excellent post Casey! I agree with every word. The TAXI community is amazing.

This was the first Rally for me and I was blown away at how great it was. The people are kind, friendly, fun and generous, the classes are excellent... there is so much energy.

I am so thankful someone recommended TAXI to me several years ago. I only have one regret and that is that it took me so long to finally join...

Great post Casey,
I just joined last year, and only this year at the Road Rally did I get around to meeting a few (very few) people from the forums, but I found the both this online community and the Road Rally are invaluable experiences to my young second career in music.
Thanks!

Casey,

Great post. I can't say enough about this community. It's absolutely amazing how many great friendships and collaborations have sprung forth from this great forum. There is so much helpful advice and encouragment here and I love the way everyone participates and encourages. I have witnessed the evolution of so many members over the years. Through the sharing of knowlege by people like Matt, Mazz, Dave W., and so many more, the community has thrived and led to so many members getting great deals.

Everyone here realizes that this is not a place for competition, for egos, for tearing people down. It is a community of people that genuinely believe we can all have a piece of the proverbial pie.

I was so thrilled to see Matt, Mazz, Suze, Chuck, Vikki, and Anne teaching lessons learned over the years here with Taxi at the Road Rally. They are paying it forward and we take their lead and do likewise.

Let's all continue forward in making this the BEST musical community on the planet!!

Best,

Cisco
