Re: Just a request.
Well, I feel better. #1- We're heading to SC for my wife's family's Christmas party. Getting out of the house is gonna help. #2-The idea is to leave me down there for a wk. w/ my family. Then, my wife will come down for Christmas and take me back a couple of days later. I'm really looking forward to it. I need the break from being stuck in the house.

Re: Just a request.
Had a wonderful Christmas w/ Mom's home cooking. It was nice not being alone 8 hrs a day 5 days a wk.
My wife and I welcomed 2011 together once she got home from work, about 11:30, w/ a nice glass off Pinot Griggio and a smooch
.
Got news today that the ECD study in Bethesda is on and will begin this month. I just need to make sure I've got all my med. records together. I am excited. I think my wife wants to go, too. Make it another Honeymoon!!

While I was in SC, I lost a crown eating a 3 Musketeers, for Pete's sake. The tooth did break off under it.
Well, I learned that ECD has been known to make folk's teeth just crumble if it's involved in the jaw. I sure hope that ain't the case. I'd like to keep my teeth. They do make chewing easier.

Re: Just a request.
Went to the Dentist Monday. Sounds like the cheapest way to go is to rebuild the tooth. That's even less expensive than an extraction.
I informed him of my concerns where ECD and oral health are concerned. He seemed curious, but not worried.

Thanks eo and Mike. I'm not worried. I do gain strength from the love and support I receive from family, friends and on line amigos.

Thanks, Cher.
I have the honor of visiting my Oncologist Wednesday and my Endocrinologist next Tuesday for more needles, bloodwork and reports. We'll see how the new insurance does.

Re: Just a request.
The Oncologist was pleased w/ my status. After talking about it, we decided not to mess w/ my Fentanyl dosage. Even though I'm getting 96 hrs out of a 72 hr patch, we figured why fix it if it ain't broke. It's doing its job, just better than before (I've gotten 90-100 hrs 13 out of the last 14 patches).
Asked him about my back. W/ no apparent cause, I began having serious backaches just below my mid-back. Could barely breathe. They tend to get better after an hour or so w/ a heating pad. The ointments, like "Aspercream" or the menthol-like, did nothing. He said not to be concerned unless they continued over an extended period. In that case, I'd be in for an MRI of my back. Folks have been paralyzed by ECD involved w/ their spine/vertebrae. The pain has continued. But, I'm gonna give it a month. Then I'll give him a call. I'm going in May 11 for another MRI of my brain, anyway. I'm not sweating it. God keeps a close eye on us.
He also said not to be concerned about jaw involvement unless I began having unusual pain there. WHEW!! That's one less thing to worry about.
