I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but maybe someone can give me some insight. When I put in the link as described for my Taxi home page (http://www.taxi.com/davedwards) it just goes to the Taxi home page. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Dave -

I think the problem is the link you are trying to use. I struggled with this at first as well. This is what I suggest:

1) sign in to your membership area and select "My TAXI Homepage" from the menu on the right.
2) Copy that URL ( it should be something like: http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.php?userid=xxxx - with xxx being your user number.
3) Goto your signature settings on the forum (or anywhere you want to place the link) and set it up as a link with a label as you want - so it doesn't show your user number, but your name

That should do it.

Thanks kc, I was eventually able to get it to work, although I ran into a couple of other bumps. The URL on my Taxi home page had "...userid=me" NOT my user name or user number!?!?! Filling in my user number took me to a blank home page (?), but substituting my user name worked. The other tricky part was getting the syntax right for the text to display in the signature, but I finally have a link that works (so far, at least). It would be nice if this process were a little less confusing.

alexwalkersmith had the best explanation I've seen for setting up the link to your TAXI homepage:
1. Go to http://www.taximusic.com
2. On the right hand side, under Hosting, click My Artist Info
3. At the bottom, you will see "My TAXI link: http://www.taxi.com/"
4. Simply type what you want to use as a name for your taxi page (for example, I wanted mine to be http://www.taxi.com/alexwalkersmith, so I typed "alexwalkersmith" in the field
5. Click save
6. Come back to this forum, and give us the link!
It works!

I would like to talk with anyone who has gotten a song of theirs cut by an artist through Taxi. Curious about the process. Thanks.

You should post that as a separate thread - you're more likely to get an answer that way.

Hi,

I just joined a few days ago after contemplating the jump to using this site for a while. Very cool to see people with specifc examples of placements and a lot of success for those who are dedicated and choose their entires smartly. I haven't updated the homepage info very well yet but there are a couple songs:

http://www.taxi.com/joshhunsaker

I suppose the "Starship Battle" is the best one to check out for a main selection (symphonic battle score). I have my music featured as demos for various audio software companies and featured in a couple online games and flash animations but I think this will be a chance to kind of slowly ramp up to more effective and useful placements in general for me. I use large rompler/sampler/synthesis libraries (EastWest, NI, UVI, Vir2, Cakewalk, Yellow Tools, etc.) for most production.

Cheers! 8-)
