Need help

Post by Dwayne Russell » Sat Feb 05, 2011 9:28 pm

Hi everyone,

I think two of my songs were played on Episode 13673 of AS The World Turns in 2009, air date 12/24/2009. I need to find that episode to prove it.

I have been searching but cant find it yet.

Does any one know anything clever that I might not know to find it?

Thanks

It looks like some episodes of ATWT can be downloaded on iTunes but not from 2009. You may want to search for people selling DVDs of the episodes on sites like eBay, etc. Use search terms including As The World Turns, 2009, and DVD...

I found this one, but the seller may want a lot of money:

Good luck,

What makes you 'think' so?

Reason I'm asking is, if you have some sort of good evidence that they actually used the songs and the reason you didn't get paid is that there was no cue sheet filed, contact your publisher and have them contact the production company and ask for a cue sheet.

But obviously you'd only want to do this if you have more than just a hunch... ;)

You have the cue sheet and the PRO is still asking for a copy of the episode?

Is the problem that you should be due an upfront license fee share and the publisher hasn't paid you?

Anyway, I'm confused now. If you have the cue sheet, no more evidence should be needed. It that cue sheet was not filed with the PRO you should contact the PRO about making sure it is. If the publisher is denying the placement to not pay your license fee, the cue sheet should be all you need to prove it. Of course, the only way to know what license fee the publisher received, if they are not being forthright, would be to audit them-- a process that would probably cost you more than it would be worth.

I'm making a lot of assumptions here. Can you provide more detail on what the problem is?

Best,
:) Casey

No. I am asking for a copy of the episode.

The cue sheet I have which was given to me by the publisher has my music on it. That is also why I was asking what the VRT date is. The cue sheet I have might be before the show air date which means they could have changed what music was played. THis was suppose to have been a done deal. That is what the publisher told me and gave me the cue sheet to show that it was.

The publisher in this case is not too swift. The PRO says that the cue sheet they received only had one artist listed. But I think it is strange that an entire episode of ASWT only had one artists songs on it. It was a Christmas episode.

I have located a copy of the episode and I just ordered it. Hopefully the guy that has it really does and he sends it. That will settle it once and for all.

Apparently I have a cue sheet that is not accurate according to the PRO. I think my publisher must have given me a cue sheet that was given to her by the supervisor BEFORE the air date. But I dont know. She gets a little testy when I ask too many questions. That in itself is not too cool.
