stylistically off target???
Hey everybody -
Can somebody please help me understand what is off target about this:
Here's the track that the listing referenced, as being in the ballpark:
http://www.amazon.com/Swell/dp/B000S4YFRC
Here's my track: (check "Sincerity" and "Sincerity Acoustic")
http://www.taxi.com/danfries
I really felt I nailed the feel, tempo, vibe, instrumentation, similar melodic gesture...
If I've ever had a track that was "stylistically on target" this was it.... what gives????
Anybody else submit to this listing?

Here's the listing:

Major NY Ad Agency URGENTLY needs a 60-Second, MID-TEMPO INSTRUMENTAL TRACK to use in a Radio Spot for a Global Oil Company. Dieter Hartmann's track Swell found in the score from the series The Messenger is a great example of the ballpark they're looking at. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE COPY, BORROW, or RIP OFF Dieter's TRACK. Use it ONLY as a GUIDE for Tempo, Feel, Texture, and Mood. Note that it's a fairly stripped down track that channels some of the instrumental and production elements of JOHN MAYER, MASSIVE ATTACK and MAT KEARNEY. To some degree, it also sounds like it could be an INTRO from a COLDPLAY song or some of the newer U2 tracks, so you may want to give some of those a spin for inspiration. You'd be smart to make your tracks ACOUSTIC GUITAR-BASED WITH SOME WARM, GENTLE ELECTRONIC ELEMENTS and employ a CONTEMPORARY DRUM TRACK. Combining Acoustic/Organic and Electronic elements in a track that's not too busy, yet builds to create a sense of emotional confidence with an element of pride could win the day on this pitch. Quoting the agency, “Be careful not to get too 'dark' overall, or 'big' at the end of the track. Buttoned/resolved endings preferred.” You CAN submit full-length tracks that are easily editable and/or 60 Second tracks. Broadcast Quality needed (Great sounding home recordings are fine). You MUST own or control 100% of the Master and Composition rights. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis. NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. THE AGENCY WILL NOTIFY US OF ANY MEMBERS WHO CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY, AND YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. If your music is selected, the AGENCY will contact you directly. Please submit one to three instrumentals online. All Submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than 6:00PM (PST) on Sunday, February 27, 2011. TAXI #Y110227IT

EDIT:
Ignore my previous comments, after listening to a forward, I have no idea. Perhaps they wanted something musically simpler with less development and buildup.

Hi Dano
It's a really nice track. I'm sure it will find a home somewhere.
It might be this. The drums are much further out front in your track giving it a more rock-ish and less laid back feel. In the sample track the drums are much more blended into the mix. Not sure about the guitar--- it maybe a touch out front too.
Best,
Casey
