...Doesn't necessarily mean that no one will ever use that song or instrumental in a show. Remember, this is the opinion of ONE reviewer. The next reviewer may hear that same song and not have any issues with the sound quality. In fact, depending on the listing (e.g. garage rock), the lo-fi production choices you intentionally made during tracking/mixdown may actually be to your advantage.
I have a song here that I've submitted maybe a dozen times. At least four of those times, it was returned for being "Not Broadcast Quality." Yet, this same song was forwarded by a reviewer to a music library, who in turn accepted it into their catalog, which then led to it being placed on CBS's Cold Case and Showtime's Shameless. And good money was made from those.
So DON'T GIVE UP!
