For the below listing I was wondering what genre(s) do you think they're looking for? They don't list any specific genres. Here is the listing:
Major International Auto Brand needs music as described in the following brief. We are quoting them DIRECTLY and ALL submissions are needed by 6 PM (PDT) SATURDAY, APRIL 23rd. Sorry for the short turn around time, but that's the way things often go on Madison Ave.
"Looking for music for a live event that will work in tandem with a video montage. The audience will be journalists from all over the world. The music must convey a sense of style - Sleek, MODERNITY - and work with the concept ideas of Global/Future, Technology/ Premium Brand/ Design/ Refined. It is NOT about being 'sexy,' it is more about 'fun to drive.' The tempo should be more laid back, slow to mid-tempo. While the music is playing there will be periods of speaking by the presenter, so tracks that are more instrumental would be a plus. Songs with MINIMAL lyrics/vocals or vocalizations could work. It would be great if the track has an arc to it, so it builds from the opening. The length of the presentation is approx. TWO-MINUTES, but the tracks you send can be longer for now." Our best suggestion: Target the concept ideas in the brief and communicate those in your track. Think: Refined, futuristic, sleek, premium brand car that's fun to drive! Your composition, arrangement, sounds and samples, mix, and vocal (if applicable) all need to fit the brief and convey the idea!
Broadcast Quality is needed (excellent home recordings are fine). You must own or control 100% of the Master and Composition rights. If you ARE chosen, the Ad Agency will contact you DIRECTLY and you'll get 100% of the income from this license - NO Publisher Splits. THE AGENCY WILL NOTIFY US OF ANY MEMBERS WHO CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY, AND YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. Please submit one to three instrumental tracks or songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS by a screener Hand-Picked by the listing company. NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than SATURDAY, April 23rd at 6pm, (PDT). TAXI Listing #Y110423AB
"Fun to drive" to me says rock or pop, but some of the other qualities don't necessarily indicate that genre. Just interested in some other opinions as some of this seems conflicting to me. Thanks.
