Can I play too? Another Neo/Blues Song

Post by Keithm » Sat May 07, 2011 7:40 am

Looks like I'm late to the party.
This one was fun. I've never done a song in 2 days before and was pretty happy.

The song is on my page and called "She Loves Karma - Updated".

I used a random song name generator on the web for the title. haha

Kieth... Really cool .. Nice compression on the drums... The organ was a good one too.. The wah guitar .. real cool, wish it lasted longer ..

Great job

Thanks Tom. That was a lot of fun. But stressful under the deadline!

Man, that's funky as all get-out. I'm digging the mono drums and the big fat claps, and I'm of the opinion that you can never, ever have enough wah guitar. And that organ is just filthy. Nice work--sometimes working to a deadline gets things grooving!

Wow thanks man. So cool getting the feedback here because none of my friends would ever notice 'mono drums' and stuff. haha
Mono drums was a last minute decision to give it and even more retro vibe.
Drums are from Reason.

Mono Drums? Ok I'm deaf in one ear so i never noticed .. Buy they do sound real in your face. Soo Do you pan then or keep them straight up ?? I now need to experiment with mono drums..
BTW I use Reason/Record with Reason drums 2.0, and Groovemonkeybeats.. love 'em ..

Hey Tom,
yea the drums are from Reason Drums 2.0. In the Reason mixer I turned the 'spread' all the way to the left so they are all straight up the middle.
All drums were mixed down to one track in the interest of time. So I didn't mix the drum elements separately.
