Been unable to watch Taxi TV for two months now!

Post by greatmoves » Mon May 16, 2011 1:20 pm

I have been unable to watch the live Ustream broadcasts for two months. I have talked to Taxi (Craig) about this when it first happen and all they would say is... They don't know anything.

I'm asking if anyone here knows of any methods of troubleshooting and getting to the root of this frustrating problem.

OS WinXP
Browser: Firefox
Internet access: DSL

I have tried the online configuring but problem is still there. Yes have tried Internet Explorer.

Problem: Symptoms...

I am able to reach the website.
Ustream loads, but the video box is just a black blank screen.
Chat box buffer indicator keeps spinning.
If left idle for and hour no image ever appears.

I would save your favorites folder, then uninstall/reinstall your browser, if clearing the cache didn't help.

It might be a problem with a flash or java add-on application.

Which browser are you using? Have you tried a different browser to see if that works?

On Internet Explorer, there is an advanced option to reset all your browser settings to their original state.

I would also reinstall the latest browser add-ons for java and flash.

Good luck!

Hi BB,

Sometimes TAXI TV doesn't work for us in Firefox or Internet Explorer (this is actually the WORST one of all for us in many applications!).

But... TAXI TV usually works for us in Google Chrome. In fact, we haven't had any problems with that one.

Good luck, and hope that helps! Maybe we'll "see" you on TAXI TV today.

What's up TV,

I have not changed to "Chrome" cause I once used to get "Taxi-TV" with regular "Google" (Is this a tactic to force us to use their latest browser?) Not sure what has happened. I have already downloaded the newest reader and the Ustream update to no avail, etc... so before I go into another tangent of reinstalling software, I first would want to exhaust the possibility of some obscure setting being the problem, Hoping someone with or has had the same or similar problem will reply with details of what it took to solve their delima.

Taxi has not chimed in on this subject yet. You think they would, or is it just me...

Thanks

When I have this kind of problem in IE, I always try changing to compatability mode.

It nearly always solves the problem. :)

The following Post solved my "Ustream" problem...
Hey Y'all, My country cue is on TV!
Hey Everyone,

One of my country cues was used on CMT's Next Superstar. It aired may 13th. I began recently writing as a custom cue artist for a library that contacted me after TAXI had forwarded a few cues to them. So.....

i can officially say that this is my first official 100% TAXI success story.

if anyone wants to watch the link is below. My tune runs from 29:20 - 29:30

Well, here's how. Just wanted to hear what the music was that got this guy ten seconds of playtime, just being curious. But the video would not play, however, unlike Ustream it gave error code. "YOU Must Allow Third party cookies". Went back to the macromedia global security thingy reset the "3rd party thing-ama-bob". I forgot to even cross my fingers... and there it iz  I have video. closed the thingy and went straight to Taxi-TV, caught the last thirty minutes of todays show.

Funny, I dont even write country music :P

Thanks Mike :D
