BEATLE-esque tune

Post by tcro58 » Tue Aug 23, 2011 9:14 am

Hey travelers,
Below can be found my BEATLE-esque tune named "It's not over"...
Submitted with sonic warts and dodgy lyrics...I am now completely knackered!

hey Tony, Well done! very Beatle-esque! It really flows along nicely - even got the ringo style fill in there. At about 58'' the sort of middle verse seems to be a little unsure- maybe the lower volume of the lead vocal? anyway, great song!

Hi Tony--

Nice track....took me back to the 60s. Very Beatle-esque indeed. Very Ringo-like drums.

Good luck with it!

Hi Tony,
That sounded like Beatles to me! Was the vocal for me that made it so. Is that your 'normal' voice or did try to sing like Paul? Good skills if so, very lucky to sound like that if not as it was really dead on!

I would put a good bet on this being a forward !

Sorry I am being rubbish on p2P today, not seemingly able to get a crit head on, just browsing and listening.

Hi Tony...Being that I cut my musical teeth on the beatles back in the 60's...not too far from woodbridge I might add....I'm pretty critical when somebody says they've got a beatles type song....it's so good it's scary....great job....bet it could fool George Martin..

Thanks much JT,Fret and Sedge..
Sedge...actually I was consciously trying sound like John in the verses and Ringo on the choruses..a touch of high falsetto Paul as part of the background oohs and ahhs...

Enjoyable listen Tony.... loving all this Beatle stuff...

Hearing touch of Badfinger myself.... like you voice, and way you double or pump it up at the Chorus.

On occasion I'm hearing a bit too much detune on the lower register of the piano... like at :39-:4o ...or perhaps mild clash of whats overtop. Maybe if you cut the sustain of that note off sooner would help?

Nice work!

Thanks for the kind words Chris....
Good ears btw ,as that detuning you heard came as a result using the already detuned Propellerhead Abbey road Mrs Mills piano sound clashing with a guitar or two...not to mention that I did hold a note a bit too long!
There's also a few bass guitar gaffes...wasn't time to fix all these elements,so I quickly mixed and submitted just before the deadine!

ooh....my mistake...not the Mrs Mills piano but rather the Challen piano as featured on A day in the life....now I need to fix that note!
