Didn't wait "Too Long" for this one...
I was very excited to have "That's Too Long" forwarded on it's first submission. I decided to submit the piano/vocal (work tape) version to this Singer/Songwriter listing as opposed to the full demo and maybe that was the right call. Thanks to those of you who made this suggestion in P2P!The listing:MODERN SINGER-SONGWRITER SONGS with a POP FEEL a la Sara Bareilles, Ray LaMontagne, Teddy Geiger, Colbie Caillat, etc. are wanted by a leading Independent Record Label for some current projects they have in development. They are looking for HITS only. Songs need to have clever lyrics and a very current and cutting edge feel. Unique and unusual word choices, catchy and unconventional melodies and instantly memorable hooks are what will get their attention. Instrumental and vocal performances must be top-notch! I submitted "That's Too Long" (acoustic)http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=true... the demo'd version for comparison:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... =trueDerek

I liked both versions for different reasons. I believe that both versions would have been forwarded. Nice work.

This is excellent work. I especially like the way you engage and disengage the vibrato in your voice at different times. It gives an "unexpected" feel to the vocals.

Hey Derek;I remember when you were first putting this together. I really like the song -- nice chord progressions and vocals -- and the space in it is very effective.BRAVO!Suz
