But we all know that Winston is the real genius behind your music.

Hehehe. I wonder what Winston's ASCAP statement looked like . . . .

Seriously, though, CONGRATS, and thank you for continuing to share your journey with everyone. It is inspiring. I figure I'm technically in year 3 of my 5-year plan, as I dialed way back on my composing for a couple of years while helping my daughter recover from her car accident (she's 100% recovered, thank goodness), but even at my slower pace of things, my composing income has gone from being 1/3rd of my income to half. I want to continue to keep things unfolding slowly and naturally (as I value an easy, relaxed work flow), but everything I'm doing continued to expand and grow.

So, Viva the 5-years plan, and Viva la TAXI!

That is AWESOME Mazz!!! I am glad to see that your hard work and perserverance is paying off. All the help you have given on this forum alone should have earned ya some placements all on it's own. lol

May all your future placements bring upfront sync fees as well as royalty checks!!! ;)

Well done Mazz

Congrats

I, too, am starting to get enough payments where I am beginning to see "trends" in what placement pays what kind of money. This may be my first year where I can more accurately discern where I might want to direct my focus of time and musical energy... for maximum benefit... still working it :-)

Having a 5 year plan is crucial. If you give up in year 1 or 2, you would never know what could have been. My first two years were so important for development of my writing and production skills. 2010 saw a few opportunities, but mid 2011 is where I am now seeing some action. Both in placements and royalties. So far I know of 40 placements this year.

I have to give credit to mazz (as well as other taxi members) for indirectly helping to raise my bar.

Good luck to all the 5 year plan writers! Hopefully I can catch up with everyone at the Rally (first timer!)
