I'm not sure on this one. I have a few songs from my CD that may fit this listing BUT they are already on a library ( name changed and I still own all rights ) .... I'd like to submit but feel that I shouldn't, and probably don't have time to get anything written.

Any advice on this one?

hey Bob,

That's a tough one. maybe some members with much experience in this regard would chime in. i would Like to know too.

to date, when I have written music for commercials, they have been lower sync fees (<$5,000) and I have retained all the rights, and the contract has been non-exclusive.

and since some library contracts seem to indicate exclusivity (if any) only on library use. I.e. you can still pitch it yourself directly.

this listing goes directly to the agency, no library................

I would submit. It may be months before you hear from anyone if you get the forward and by then you will have new songs.
Since your songs are re-titled it is likely a non-exclusive library that you are signed with. The library you are submitting to may also be non-exclusive in which case there is no problem.
In the case that the new library wants exclusive, now you're in the door and can write new stuff for them and submit it directly.
The key to Taxi is get the forward. Always submit your best music so you'll have the best shot of getting the forward.

Makes sense ... I was going to submit, after much consideration, but didn't notice the deadline being 11am! ... so i missed it! ... no biggie, as i discovered a few gems from days of old that aren't on libraries yet, but maybe some day.
