Epic Orchestra

Post by fusilierb » Tue Feb 03, 2009 11:34 am

Well after enduring 5 rejections in the past few weeks, a sudden ray of sunshine. My John Williams rip off made it out of the gate. I have to especially thank Mazz, who gave me incredible mixing advice while I was struggling to get this written in time. You saved me!Here is the listing:ORIGINAL DRAMATIC/EPIC SOUNDTRACK INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an Independent Record Label for a Compilation CD project that will be released by a Major Distributor. This company has signed dozens of TAXI writers for use on projects distributed by Sony/BMG, Universal, EMI, etc. This company would like to hear original pieces that have as much range and power as some of the most popular soundtrack themes - Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T., etc. They don't want cover arrangements for this one, but would rather hear original compositions. They'll be most interested in dramatic, sweeping, orchestral arrangements that have an epic feel. They will consider compositions that feature a blend of contemporary and classical instrumentation/tone, but the focus will still be on thematic power and compelling motifs - lush and powerful arrangements will catch the most attention. The critique went:Excellent, Bryan. There is a very Coplandesque quality to your take here, and it makes it very strong in terms of melody and harmony. The rhythmic figure you use in the 2nd part is perfectly chosen and orchestrated. This is just strong writing and it's perfectly suited to the listing. Well done.Which was very nice to hear. And to think I used to hate these listeners and their damned critiques. Here's the tune:Ark Warshttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=2035 ... anfusilier
