0/3 Dark Scary

Post by fusilierb » Wed Nov 23, 2011 2:49 pm

It's been a tough Taxi year for me. I'm batting just under 50%. Not good for the ego.

Three tunes submitted to:

DARK and SCARY INSTRUMENTALS needed by the Music Coordinator of a HUGE Major Motion Picture Company. They're looking for great sounding instrumentals that range from Suspenseful to Terrifying, Creepy to Intense, Eerie to Nerve-wracking. They're open to all styles and approaches, but will be especially interested in tracks that develop from Suspenseful to Tense to out-and-out Scary! Instrumentation is open. Stick to the 1:00-3:00 range for length. Orchestral and Instrument samples must be high quality and indistinguishable from real instruments! Broadcast quality is required (great sounding home recordings are okay.) We recently ran this as Dispatch listing # D110914IN, so if you submitted to that listing, send in new material this time around. Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Wedneday, October 26, 2011. TAXI #Y111026IN

And 3 tunes returned.

The ever popular "music" box was checked.

But on a more positive note, 30 minutes after I got these returns, I got a forward for another listing. :D

Cool stuff! Has an "Interview With the Vampire" vibe.

I also went 0/3 on this listing; check out "Hell & Heaven", "Lost in the Towers" & "Black Sabbatical".

Hi Bryan
Don't sweat it... This was for a "HUGE Major Motion Picture Company" so I'm sure the bar was incredibly high.

Good pieces will always find a home. :)

Sorry to hear it man. Don't let it get you down!

I went 0/5 (well technically 0/4 cause I did 2 versions of one, but I made 5 submissions) on this one. Gotta keep moving on. I've been getting a lot of returns lately, but I have a lot of writing gigs currently so that kind of makes up for it.

Gotta keep putting it out there. Some will hit, some won't.

Hang in!

I was also 0/3 on this one.

But it's nice to be in such excellent company here. :D

Hey Bryan, I will add my name to the "I also got returned" list on this listing. Thought I had a decent shot, too. Oh well, write, submit, forget!

Hang in there!

I know you're bummed about the returns,
but I gotta say, I wish my Taxi record was as high as 50%.

Keep swingin,' Slugger!

I was wondering if anyone here got forward to this. I'm ruinous to see what they were really looking for. Not sure what a major film company is doing with stock music.

Bryan,

I was forwarded when this company had the same listing as a Dispatch listing:

No contact from them yet.
