The Roots

Post by Mike Barresi » Fri Dec 09, 2011 8:21 am

Let me start by saying that I typically don't listen to Hip Hop that often aside from the Beastie Boys occasionally. I DO watch Jimmy Fallon almost every night and therefore have come to appreciate the talents of The Roots.

On a whim I bought the new Roots album "Undun". AWESOME STUFF!! Great playing, great writing, killer mix and production. It reminds me of a true album. You can listen to this album from start to finish. It's not a couple hits surrounded by filler.

Cheers!

They're great! I bought an album they did with John Legend a couple years ago called "Wake Up", putting a modern spin on 1970's classic soul songs.

Thanks for the heads up on these albums. I had their first few albums but kinda lost touch with them after tipping point.

Hey, Mike, your name sounds very familiar. Were you in canadian press at all this year? Socan newsletter maybe?
