How long does it take to hear back? (ref. S111104SS)

Post by charlieb » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:44 am

Hi,
I'm new to Taxi. I've already submitted to several listings, and heard back from 6 (no luck yet!)
Taxi says 'You will receive an e-mail notification about the status of your submission about 10 to 30 days after the deadline date of each listing.'.
On each of the listings I have heard back from, I got the results back EXACTLY 30 days after the listing ended (I think...)
However the one I'm currently waiting for, it is now 34 days, still pending.

I'm not really bothered, just curious!
So my questions are -
Does it often take longer than 30 days? If so, not a problem! Was it just chance that the 6 previous ones took exactly 30 days?
Has anyone else heard back from this listing yet? It's S111104SS (Male Singer Songwriters wanted by a Midwestern Indie label).

Thanks!
Charlie

No-one else will have heard back from that listing yet if you haven't, they send all of the listing results out on mass together when they've finished screening everything.

In my experience only a few listings have taken longer than 30 days, so my guess would be 'any day now'! I guess there's a few possible reasons for that (maybe they got a huge amount of submissions for that particular listing, and maybe the screeners needed for that listing have been partially tied-up doing some of the short-notice listings that crop up from time to time.) I'd also say that the 'S' listings (with full critique) are always closer to 30 days than 10.

Hope that helps!

I've had a few go over 30 days, but not much more than that-- maybe another week.

Occasionally, there can be an extra delay because the listing party is screening themselves or a special Taxi screener is needed and things have to be worked around those schedules.

Patience, grasshopper... patience. ;)

I got my answer (returns) a handful of days ago.
(Sorry I can't be more specific, but the critique
doesn't have a date on it)

I had only submit one song with critique for a different listing.
It took 30 days. It was "returned". But for $5 I got an excellent brutally honest critique.
The Listener tried not to hurt my feelings while telling me the song sucked. From this one experience I had concluded they saved the bad reviews until last because they are more difficult to do. Casey's post seems to make more sense than what I had been thinking.

Rick
All reviews/results are sent out at one time, when ALL submissions have been screened. There is no relationship between the content of your review and when it goes out. By sending them all out at once, Taxi avoids a flurry of "How come he got his results and I didn't get mine yet?" calls.

There is no way to know exactly when your track got screened in the weeks between listing closing and results going out.

It's best not to overthink this. ;)

Casey,

You were right, I was overthinking it. And I appreciated your post. Your explanation helped stop me from spinning negative scenarios in my head.
