I had a feeling that was going to be the case, Jon. Using two units with the 'link' function somehow shares their signals. I didn't totally understand how they have it implemented, but there is a reason for the link function with a stereo pair. I imagine it is just loads more difficult to get a proper stereo image out of two channels with one unit to work with. I'm mostly looking to do stereo processing with it, so I'll have to start saving up for a pair!

These are next on my wishlist. It's either a pair of these or a hardware synthesizer (most likely Arturia Origin, but I'm up in the air on it right now).

You can get hard knee and OverEasy DBX sounds with the Distressor; don't know about the Dyna-Mite, I'm not familiar with that box.

Yea the Valley Dyna-mite, I bought that about 15 years ago under reccomendation from a friend. I tried to use it for at least 5 or 6 years, but it compressed so hard, the artifacts were hard to take. My friend had one and used it as a noise gate.

One day I was mixing a drummer that had a real inconsistent kick and snare. I tried talking to him and asked him to pay less attention to his hat and ride chops and concentrate on hittting the kick the same, and hit the snare the same and in the same spot. He didn't get it.

The drummer left, so I pulled out the old Dyna-Mite and strapped it on the kick and snare channels, I soloed up the kick, tweaked the Dyna-Mite, and thought. Oh my god, how horrible, listen to the artifacts this thing is creating. I turned the solo off and pushed up the fader and said, Oh my god, the kick sounds amazing...........LOL

The Dyna-mite now resides permanently on my kick and snare channels. That same friend told me he wanted to sell his Dyna-mite a few years ago, now I have a spare....

They released it as a plug in recently.... This is the exactly the ones that I have
