'Relationship' Rock songs listing IDENTICAL to dispatch.....

Post by mattharveymusic » Thu Dec 29, 2011 9:42 am

This is probably a very obvious answer, but I just wanted to be certain......

Given that this listing :-

NEW LISTING -- RELATIONSHIP SONGS IN ALL ROCK STYLES needed by a Los Angeles-based Indie Label for Film & TV placements, with Advertising Potential. From the source: "I need Contemporary scene-setting music with relationships as the primary theme. Lyrical themes can include: Love, Romance, Jealousy, Quarreling, Values, etc. Think of Popular shows such as "Sex in the City," "Friends," or any general relationship-based Comedy or Love story." Listing is open to Soft Rock, Alt. Rock, Modern Rock, Pop Rock, and Indie Rock. Male or female vocals OK. Vocals must be expressive & communicate with viewers. Lyrics must provide a fresh, universal approach to themes and have a strong, focused hook. Your song will be used to add emotion, energy, or atmosphere to a scene so make sure you communicate a clear feeling in your performance and songs. NO instrumentals please. Vocal and instrumental presentation must be top -notch. Broadcast Quality needed (great sounding home recordings are also OK). We recently ran this listing as Dispatch listing #D111207RS, and the company would like to hear more material. If you submitted to this Dispatch listing, please send in new songs this time around. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by a screener handpicked by the Record Company, and must be received no later than Tuesday, January 24, 2012.
TAXI # S120124RK

Is IDENTICAL to this dispatch listing :-

D111207RS

RELATIONSHIP SONGS (in all rock styles) needed by a Los Angeles based Indie Label for upcoming Film and TV placements, and possible advertising potential. Mentioned by the source: “I need contemporary scene setting music with relationships as the primary theme. Lyrical themes can include Love, Romance, Jealousy, Quarreling, Values, etc.. Think of popular shows, such as “Sex in the City, Friends, or any general relationship based Comedy. I'm open to Soft Rock, Modern Rock, Alt Rock, Pop Rock, Indie Rock, even tracks leaning towards Adult Contemporary as well.” MALE or FEMALE vocals OK. Lyrical themes MUST communicate a story to the listener and provide a focused, clear, and universal lyrical approach. NO Instrumentals please! TEMPO and MOOD may vary. Vocal and Instrumental presentation must be top-notch! Broadcast Quality needed (great sounding home recordings are OK.) Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened by a representative of the company on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than 10:00AM (PST) on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. TAXI # D111207RS

.....and given that I have already submitted to the Dispatch listing, there will be absolutely no benefit for me to submit the same tracks to the January listing as well, right?

I'm probably just being silly and should go with my gut and not submit to both, but don't want to miss out! Any answer appreciated. :-)

Since the Dispatch listing was already screened by the listing party, if I song didn't get forwarded for the Dispatch, there is really no point in submitting again.

The only reason I can think of for submitting again is the newer listing is an "S" listing... So you would get a critique for your $5. However, Taxi does say in the listing, not to re-submit.

Thanks Casey, I somehow managed to miss the bit where it says NOT to resubmit this time around. I'll just go and learn to read. ;-)

Hey Matt
I checked with Taxi about this and they said you can re-submit a song that wasn't forwarded so you can get a critique. Seems like it could be worth $5 to get more info as to why it didn't work for the listing. I'm doing that with one song.

Best,
 Casey
