One thing I don't think I have to worry about is someone stealing this drug out of my truck. Won't take but one time and their lesson will be learned. Not much of a high!I did handle the increase okay. Felt pretty loopy this morning. By this afternoon, I was able to get the trash & recyclables together and get them to the dump station, took a little walk and, best of all, mustered the energy to kiss my lady good-bye as she headed off to work .We start counseling tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to. Help us both deal with this crap. Something I try to be a good boy about .

Anybody know anything about radiation treatments? It's been since Thanksgiving, and my poor feet and calves are still pretty swollen. Nothing very uncomfortable or alarming, like flaming red in color. Just swollen. No new med's that would cause this as far as I know.'Ppreciate it.

The increased dosage is working wonders and the effects are greatly lessened. I'm feeling a whole lot better, gots more get-up-and-go, the pain in my legs is much better ('Course, that's prob'ly the patch). I wonder (and, yes, I'll ask doc before I act) how Vicodine would do as a sub for one day at a time between patches. I'm thinkin' about making the withdrawal less dramatic when the day comes to back off that wonderful pain killer. Tell you what, that stuff do "kill" the pain. 'Course it's an opiate. So, I imagine they'll back me off rather slowly. The counselor did help a bunch, and I'm scheduled to go back next Wed. with my bride.

Gosh! I've just become a whiz with the needle. No trainin', no nuthin', and I'm giving myself shots in the love-handles, the bum, the arm, etc. Four months ago I'd've told you "No way" if you told me I'd be giving myself shots. I done gone and impressed myself .

Way to go, Walt!! Congrats not only on the new needle skills but also for going back to the counselor and getting into the spirit of the thing. I would think the Vicodin would do you between patches and yes, the symptoms you describe about rads on swelling are accurate. It jes takes time to heal up. How many more to go?Meantime, you da man!

As far as the needles go, I just figured I've been through a whole lot worse in my life: Had mumps/ encephalitis at two yrs; Fell out of a tree when I was six- 3 week hospital stay there; Had a wonderful little procedure called a Neotodomy before I was 10; Had a gum graft in the early 90's then all that's involved with this particular adventure. If I can't stick myself with a little Interferon, I ain't learned much.Hey, you guys do my Sweety a favor and say a prayer for her Grandmother and for my Sweets? She's suffering renal failure down Florida way. Since they haven't been very close for a while, I fear a truckload of guilt is possible. My wife tried. But, distance and other family caused some interference.

Turns out it was her gall bladder. Still trouble, 'cause it ruptured. She does seem to be improving, though. Thanks, Ted!!

Went to see the Opthalmologist today. He said he's never seen the likes of me. Said the growths he's seen like mine have always caused interference with vision and headaches. My field of vision, focus and color perception have all actually improved, and the interferon is the only thing that gives me a headache once in a while. Couldn't tell a man of science that I know why I've been improving. He'd never accept it.

Got a phone call from a fella in St. Louis who was diagnosed with Erdheim's in 1998. We talked for a good two hours, and he is going to send me some info. He also agreed that I can't let the disease have me. I wont!! ;-)
