I am building 8 channels of mic pre for my home studio. I designed these from scratch, with a little bit of modern and a little bit of vintage. I have been working on this project since last summer.. I am to the point where I have to think about the display. I have three options I am considering...
1. Analog VU meter
2. 4 LED display -20, -10, 0, and +10
3. 10 LED VU display -20, -10, -7, -3, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, +3
Which display do you think I should use...???
I need your opinion !!!

I think I would go with #1 - if you have the space why not with a nice Analog needle winging around?
