More Thoughtful --- Thanks

Post by Edgy DC » Tue Mar 27, 2012 8:39 am

I've had plenty of feedback from reviews where, while I perfectly accepted my rejection, got a lot of less-than-helpful feedback that was seemingly deliberately ambiguous, obtuse, internally contradictory, occasionally factually wrong, and filled with the sort of spelling and grammar errors that make a body wonder how thoughtfully their work was considered. It really has helped sour me on the TAXI experience, whereas my songwriting partner can never read the critiques at all without feeling like she's throwing money down a hole.

I recently got three rejections --- from reviewers 255 (two) and 278 --- that were much more helpful, recognizing what we were trying to do, where we succeeded, where we failed, why the match wouldn't work, and why , you know, why that is not necessarily our failure. Mr. or Ms. 278 wrote, "Very long for todays radio, but then it always takes one song to break that wall down. "

That's pretty encouraging. I mean, we all want a piece of the action going around today, but we all want to transform it, too.

Missing an apostrophe in "todays," but I'll totally look the other way on that. Thanks for your helpful feedback.
