Re: My voice is my greatest strength and greatest weakness
I'm a jack of all trades, master of none. Luckily for all of us, perfection is boring. It is also subjective. The best we can do...is the best we can do...so I focus on the project--make each piece shine in its own way. The more I think about myself, the less I focus on the matter at hand, which is the project.

Good point, Mark; the very best thing about music, sold or otherwise, is how it takes me outside myself.

Re: My voice is my greatest strength and greatest weakness
Long time participants here know that the tunes I've posted here were all professionally demoed. To pitch a tune, I'd sing it into my Boss 900 whatever, maybe with a rhythm track. So, the demo firm got the melody & the phrasing & the lyrics, and not much else. The resulting tunes won awards in the Great American Song Contest 4 years in a row. Recently, I saw my original CD's -- with me singing -- on a shelf in my garage. Took a listen. I was shocked and appalled. Truly, a decent demo firm can turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. If you have a decent tune & can't sing, get a pro to do it. Today's market is too competetive to do anything less. Ott

ottlukk: Thank you! I just learned something new - Professional demos. Sounds like an oxymoron, but makes good sense, especially in my particular situation.
