Hi Suzanne,
I listened to your track and really like the way you capture exactly the right vibe straight away. Very nice.
I forgot to mention that I submitted two tracks, Glider and Stratosphere, that are on my taxi page.
Apologies for veering off the original thread!
All the best
Gary

Hey, thanks much for listening Gary. I just checked out your "Glider" and "Stratosphere" tracks. Very nicely done. Just like the listing requested: atmospheric, etereal, delicate and heavenly. "Stratosphere" is my favorite - something about it evokes an emotion of melancholy, yet with some optimistic joy to it - beautiful job!
Good luck to you with these!!!
Sincerely,
Suzanne

Re: An Ending -Eno -Ambient S120503IN
Thanks for listening and your kind words Suzanne. I was a bit unsure whether putting guitar in the tracks was too far away from Eno's track, but I just went with what felt right!
I tested my tracks against this great piece of film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwTnyRHEZSQ
I muted the original track (which I recognise as Elevator Heat, by Nancy Wilson, that's on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack, love that track!) and played mine over the film. It's the first time I've tried this and I found the result very pleasing and encouraging. And if you've had as many returns as I've had, you need to get some of that feeling!!
Good luck with your submission and to everybody else that had a go.
Gary

Re: An Ending -Eno -Ambient S120503IN
They're running this one again (sorta), without the Brian Eno reference (S120820AI) and it's due tonight by midnight.
My dilemma was that when I hear "ambient" I think synth, not acoustic, but I was already in the middle of recording an ethereal piece, with movement/dynamics, etc., but very acoustic. It fits in well with a lot of Narada artists, so just in case acoustic piano-based pieces will work for their purposes, I'm submitting it (Rain on the Flipside - NOT the solo piano version). Once I got home from recording it, I found the OLD listing (S120503IN) here in this thread, and that's where the Brian Eno reference came in, which further emphasizes the synth factor. Ah well. Forward or not, I'm happy to have this track!
