Newbie says hi and gets 1/1 on Business News
Hi all,I signed up for taxi and had about an hour and a half to whip up the business news jingle. I almost abandoned it half way as it was coming out more simplistic and cheery than I intended. Fortunately, I forged ahead and got a forward on my first submission, anyway. Okay, I first got rejections on dispatch listings that were reviewed quicker, but I can still say my first submission made it through. I haven't studied up on how to link directly to a song yet, but the track "Everything is All Right" is there in my way too full song list at http://www.taxi.com/rgravesHere's hoping we all get the deal and end up on a new library CD together!

Thanks all, especially Kel for the compliment! I haven't had the chance to orchestrate since having access to real musicians in school in 1996 and have focused on other music and art projects since then. I just started to refocus on film composition early last year and picked up Vienna Symphonic Library software/samples. I'm loving being able to take orchestration seriously in MIDI context now and am rereading my school textbooks and got some scores to study again. With every piece I do, I find myself in awe of what we can produce in our home studios these days!Of course, I'd rather work on a film or show with a budget for a real orchestra... but I suppose that'll have to wait.

Wow, Didger, I just spent ages listening to your music on your website. Your work is really amazing and very unusual. I love love love the didgeridu and I was impressed that you knew how to spell it as well as play it but then I see you spelled it digeridoo on your website - is that an alternative spelling? Your didg playing is amazing. I went to Australia and bought a didg and couldn't play it - found an aborigini on the street playing for coins and asked him to give me a lesson, which he did, but I just couldn't get it. How do you get those rhythms going? Do you do circular breathing? Why do you have this affinity with Australia? How did you decide to play the didg and how did you learn to do it? Sorry, I'll shut up.Congrats on the forward - that's really cool!!!!!!Georgie
