As a result, we are not talking about mere hurtful comments, but comments and actions that are now part of music history. Comments that will follow their careers. Also, this is not an isolated incident for Kanye. Personally, I cannot think of another person who has made it a point to act in an unseemly manner on a national stage. This is a way of life for him. Below are several reports of similar actions.1. November 14, 2004 The 32nd annual American Music Awards Upon hearing he has lost the Best New Artist award to "Redneck Woman" Gretchen Wilson, West storms out of the AMAs in a show of protest. He later tells reporters, "I felt like I was definitely robbed, and I refused to give any politically correct bullsh--ass comment ... I was the best new artist this year." He also brings up the idea of a massive conspiracy against him, questions the award show's voting process and promises never to return to the AMAs.2. On September 2, 2005, during a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina relief on NBC, A Concert for Hurricane Relief, West was a featured speaker. Controversy arose when West was presenting, as he deviated from the prepared script. The actor Mike Myers, with whom West was paired to present, spoke next and continued to read the script. Once it was West's turn to speak again, he said "George Bush doesn't care about black people."3. On November 2, 2006, when his "Touch the Sky" failed to win Best Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards, West went onto the stage as the award was being presented to Justice and Simian for "We Are Your Friends" and argued that he should have won the award instead. 4. On September 9, 2007, West suggested that his race had to do with his being overlooked for opening the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in favor of Britney Spears; he claimed, "Maybe my skin’s not right. On at least four occasions, on a national stage Kanye has demeaned the achievements of others when they received awards he felt he deserved. His comments and actions work to humiliate other performers on a national/international level.Clearly, Kanye's actions are a world apart from hurtful comments an average person might make in a lesser setting and on a far smaller stage. "I'm disappointed in what Kanye did and he is 100 times disappointed in himself"I don't know the man's heart, but given the fact that he has done this sort of thing many times over, I question if he truly is all that disappointed with himself. If he were, why does he continue to repeat the practice on a national stage? If he knows it's a weakness, then why go to the award shows at all if he does not want to repeat the action? Best wishes to you!

Then again, he's probably cryin' all the way to the bank; there's no such thing as bad publicity, and controversy is the cheapest coverage you can buy-this is why I prefer to move on; I have no desire to reward his childish behavior by discussing it further.

I thought this thread stopped a long time ago. I'm sure he's quite happy we are still talking about him.

Re: Kanye West (idiot)
i found it very disrespectful coming from a major recording artist and someone in the music industry just to bash another person like that on stage and take away her 15 minutes of fame just because he has a metal road block where not everything is revolved around him. I actually liked Kanye West and his music but now i do not have much respect for him.

Boring! This doesn't really say much for the music industry. The only reason I've even heard of the WMAs if that's what they're called is because the telecast made headline news based on anything but music. Real talent doesn't need controversy to be heard.
