As a vocalist I've been told the exact opposite, by everyone! I guess 20 some odd years as a vocalist is all for not. I guess I'll work on my kazoo skills. Maybe I can whistle...with emotion... D.B.
P.S. - 'Silent Night ' cover returned. What Taxi means by' try something out of the box', is DON'T YOU DARE TRY SOMETHING THATS NOT TRIED AND TRUE. It's good to know that innovation here in America IS DEAD. Let's be like everyone else. Individuality is for people that have already made a name for themselves. Let's try and remember that why we liked them in the first place. They did not fit the moldy mold, they made their own.

Dave, I think your vocals are great. I think you also have a very uncanny ability to pick the most unsuitable listings for your vocals and songs. I would suggest getting a "taxi agent" a taxi friend who can look over the listings for you and tell you which listings would be appropriate to submit. I think if you were "not allowed" to view the listings, and just wrote and sang what was in you, you would be much more fruitful. That's just my opinion. I think you just get too stressed and frustrated and start lashing out because of rejection, and not calm rationality. Your passion, fire and spunk are great, but better directed toward your music imo. Feeling sorry for yourself and spewing venom without substance is just ugly, and makes you look like a nin-come-poop, and your vocal quality is so much above that!!

With all due respect to everyone - I happen to agree with his ps. in regards to Silent Night and his frustration over mis- or - un- communicated expectations. I have the same frustration fwiw.

AGREED!! Len, I hear you loud and clear. Was surprised at that one, that's all. Your suggestion is duly noted; am writing more for feel than listings for the now. Still working on the underscore stuff as well. Will have a few new tunes very soon that I believe will put the 'singing with emotion thing' to rest. I know I do, just maybe not for a 'tongue in cheek' type of tune. We were just havin' fun man. That WAS the emotion.
That said, I got a very nice response from Robin from Taxi, who stated although they loved the song, it was too original for this listing; it would have to be paid royalties if used because it was no longer a public domain piece. Should work better for a Christmas listing that needs original material. Mix was a small issue, but not enough for a return.
Communication kills any rant. It was not my intent to rant, only to ask other opinions. More heads are better than my one. Peace to all, D.B.

There is some truth in this statement.
