OK Just got this email and am all excited to write something new on Spec! BUT after re-reading it I found a confusing point.
Thinking to call Taxi tomorrow to clarify but wanted to get some feedback here first.
Below is a majority of the listing to get the point across. After listening to the reference tracks it is strange to me that the listing would say "Generic, boring or repetitive TRACKS will NOT work." BOTH of the reference tracks are in my opinion "generic, boring and repetitive". One of them plays the same chord for a full 60 seconds. - Nothing against these tracks or this listing, I think the songs are kind of interesting in some strange way and I want to write to this one but it seems to be contradictory.
Can anyone help shed some light on this listing interpretation? (Links have been removed by me in this post)

Below is a special opportunity that we wanted to give you a heads up about. We need the music by Thursday, July 12, 2012, 12:30PM PDT. You can find this listing under the Dance/Electronica genre in the Submit Music section of your TAXImusic.com hosting site.
AD AGENCY needs MID-to-UPTEMPO INDIE ELECTRO or INDIE POP INSTRUMENTAL TRACKS for a web commercial for a TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT. Quoting the agency rep, "We're looking for an UPLIFTING, POSITIVE-sounding INSTRUMENTAL that has a nice BUILD and really BLOSSOMS into something COOL... INSPIRING at its core with a sense of FORWARD MOTION, PUSH and ENERGY. Think more MAJOR chords than minor." A couple of reference tracks to get you in the ballpark:
Dan Deacon "Crystal Cat" (Link removed, it didn't work)
Cut Copy "Need You Now" (Link removed, but it is easy to find)
Even though these references have vocals, they're looking for INSTRUMENTALS only at this time. Please use these reference tracks for VIBE, TONE and TEMPO only. They are NOT looking for very clubby tracks, dubstep or anything too challenging to the ear. Your INSTRUMENTAL will be playing behind voiceover so it cannot be too distracting or conflict with dialogue. I-M-P-O-R-T-A-N-T: If your music is chosen by the agency, you may be asked to alter the timing of your music to fit the picture. So, it is absolutely crucial that you are able to quickly and easily access, change and edit your music in your DAW to fit the action of the spot. Generic, boring or repetitive TRACKS will NOT work. Your TRACK must be a minimum of 2 minutes long. Instrumentation and vocal performance MUST sound TOP-NOTCH, CURRENT, and CONTEMPORARY. As always, DO NOT rip-off the referenced artists in any way, shape or form! NO SAMPLES of other songs or artists can be incorporated into your track. You MUST own or control 100% of the Master and Composition rights to submit for this listing. Broadcast Quality is needed. If your music is chosen, the commercial will appear on the web with the possibility of an option for TV broadcast.

Re: INDIE POP, INDIE ELECTRO INSTRUMENTALS Needed for Commercial
I don't see a conflict, they only want the vibe, tone, tempo, or I might add, mood, feel... and of course something more exciting, lol! I don't think they want a soundalike at all. I think this time they are actually looking for something creative, imaginative and original! Anyway, that's my take. The only contradiction I see is that they only want instrumentals and then at the end say intrumentation and vocal performance must be top notch... Good luck!!

I think your right, Len.
Have 35 seconds of something cool... now to embellish it out to two minutes...
