Hi Eric,

You and I have the same bag, though I play saxophone. Both my submissions were rejected on this listing by #347. As a heads-up, #347 is a music supervisor, not a musician per se, so some of what she tries to explain in a musical way doesn't make sense; you and I have written to each other on this before.

Yes, the most challenging part of this submission was getting beyond the vagueries of the listing description: Brad Meldau and the Swedish trio are really not "funky", in the old-school sense of the term, and as you said, MM&W is a polar opposite of those other guys. To make it more challenging, all the refernces were of trios. Also the "kick-ass solos" description: does that meaning burning, or in the funky pocket? It was just a weird pitch all around, for which I requested-- and received-- some clarification.

Press on, San Francisco, and look us up if you're ever in Tahoe.

Hey, Eric, Again--

Just heard the track, and that's some extremely funky stuff: Jeff Lorber's just killin' it back there, and Dennis, wow, super funk. I'm only thinking that it's too "up front" to be used for TV/film, too attention-getting, I guess.

Contunued Good Luck,
