First forward on S090528PR!

Post by partyofone » Fri Jun 26, 2009 3:02 pm

Hi all,I've been absent lately (new job with a longer commute kicking my butt a little), but just wanted to pop in and say I got my first forward!! The song was "See Through Me" which I got some great feedback and suggestions on from you fine friends! Below is the listing:S090528PRPOP/ROCK SONGS in the wide open range of Maroon 5 to Pink to Kelly Clarkson, etc. are wanted by the VP of Music Licensing at a Music Production Company that places songs in high profile television shows and ad campaigns. He wants to hear material from artists/bands that has commercial appeal with universal lyrics. Songs should have great hooks that can help make a developing story line in a show really stand out and that are still running through your head long after the song and scene are over. Broadcast Quality is needed (excellent sounding home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Thursday, May 28, 2009. TAXI #S090528PRThe song is on my profile for anyone looking for it. I received all 8's across the board. The main comment was:"Patrick--the song has solid and distinct melodies and this visually cohesive lyric could apply to a variety of characters, situations, and scenarios."Thanks to everyone who offered feedback and for your support thus far!

Patrick!! Congratulations!! Of course, with your kind of productions, this no surprise. And what a great listing to submit to!! Keep us posted-- I can't wait to hear more good news from your end!!! Congrats!!! RaagsP.S. My long nearly two-hour Chicago commute used to be the best time for me to dream up new songs-- that's when I started carrying a voice recorder with me. Oddly, I find myself coming up with song ideas on commutes as much as I do in the shower! Heh heh.

Thanks! Raags, yeah that's funny.. I come up with song ideas in the car too but it's rare that I'll write a melody first so it doesn't happen as often. On the other hand it does give me time to vocalize which is a plus! G thanks! Yeah that's me singing.
