Road Rally Parking $$
You may want to think about your budget on this one.
They were not upfront on this hidden cost on their web page.
Thank you for contacting Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. I welcome the opportunity to assist you.
Here are the parking details for The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites, Los Angeles: We offer 24-hour, on-site valet parking only. Rates are $38 for overnight guest parking (with in and out privileges). For non-guests, rates are $3.75 every 15 minutes with a $47 maximum rate per day. Guests can call ahead for car pick-up by dialing ext. 5102 from your in-room phone, or simply calling Service Express®. Three-hour complimentary parking with validation is available for guests dining at LA Prime
Is there some kind of a deal for TAXI members??
Thank You,
Pete

Hey Pete
Well, last year i think it was something around $10 per day! You can get some sort of discount tickets that you can pay parts of the parking ticket. Not totally sure how much I pay per day exactly, but it has to be somewhere between $8-12.
it's not that bad, but i don't know how much parking is if you stay at the hotel. I was staying at a best western.
peace
Al

Oh can i give you another tip, I'm sort of color blind...actually more a red blindness which apparently lots of men do have. If you write on this background color in red, it's really hard to read

Hey Al,
Red is bad. Got it.
$12/day would be fine. The hotel itself is actually a great deal.
Anybody else have some input?
Thanks,
Pete

Well number one you've got the wrong Westin. It's the lax Westin. Are you driving because you live in the area? There's a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel where the rally is held.

Call the Westin LAX directly and ask about the rates for parking and if there is any discount if you are attending an event such as the Taxi Road Rally.

Re: Road Rally Parking $$
Since it's right by the airport, there are several nearby lots with day and overnight rates lower than the hotel's, if you don't mind a walk or cab to the lot. (the airport lots feature regular shuttle service, as Mazz mentioned) There are also some other hotels and businesses nearby that aherm, don't charge for parking; whether you really need the hassle of interrupting your Rally experience at intervals to go move your car is a question to ponder.

Thanks again to all,
I told the guy I wanted the info on the downtown LA Westin. This is what he gave me.
This will be my first Rally. The parking wasn't going to stop me.
I just thought it would be useful to know in advance.
I appreciate all the input.

Just in case it's not clear at this point, it is not the downtown LA Westin. It is the one near the airport (LAX) on Century Blvd.... http://www.starwoodhotels.com/westin/pr ... rtyID=1005
See you there!

Re: Road Rally Parking $$
Year before last (2010) it ended up about $21 per stay. Last year (2011) I think there was a discount that brought it down to $8.
