Thank you #354!!!

I was (obviously) pleasantly welcomed back from a 7-day, truck driving nightmare with this:

LISTING:
ETHEREAL and AMBIENT INSTRUMENTALS needed by an Independent Music Library/Publisher for Film/TV placements. QUOTING THE SOURCE: "I need tracks that have an ethereal quality, but don't just sit there. They need to have movement. Percussive elements would be a big plus as well." We recently ran a similar listing #S120503IN, and they'd like to hear more, so please send in new material this time around. Do NOT submit World influenced instrumentals; keep your instrumentals DELICATE and HEAVENLY! NO vocals - INSTRUMENTALS ONLY. Excellent performances are absolutely necessary. IMPORTANT: This company offers an Exclusive Film/TV publishing deal, so DO NOT submit a track that is exclusively or non-exclusively signed to another library! Broadcast quality needed (excellent home recordings are okay). Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Monday, August 20, 2012. TAXI #S120820AI

"Not So Simple"

CRITIQUE

Name Andy Kotz Listing # S120820AI

Title: Not So Simple
(10=best)
Melody - 8
Marketability - 9
Song Structure - 8
Production - 9
Engineering - 9
Musicianship - 8

"Hey Andy,
Nice Work! This track is ambient, ethereal at times and has delicate moments with some percussive elements in there just like the listing asks for. That percussion is a tabla I believe and the listing specifically asks for no world instruments. I'm going to let that slide!"

Status: Forward

Style:On target for this listing

Overall Comments:
"Overall, the track addresses all of the criteria set forth in the listing except for two elements that are't deal breakers. One element is like i mentioned earlier in the tabla. The second note is that the track doesn't progress very far and almost "just sits there" as the listing mentions. The tabla is a bit low in the mix for my taste but in this case it's a good thing.
This is a strong ethereal track though. Keep up the great work."

Sound Quality: Well-Recorded

The main reason(s) you were forwarded for this listing is: "Most of the criteria listed in the description is addressed in an effective way."

Here's the second forward and its critique (same screener):

"Hi Andy, Eyes Closed is definitely of the ambient, ethereal nature. It also contains a solid percussion track that seems to keep the track moving along and not stagnant.
Structurally, the track evolves and grows without breaking character."

Status: Forward

Style: On target for this listing

Overall Comments:
"Eyes closed satisfies a few of the criteria in the listing like the delicate nature needed and the heavenly vibe. It evolves structurally as to not be too "one notey" but still maintains a sense of an ethereal ambient feel.
Well done on this track."

Sound Quality: Well-Recorded

The main reason(s) you were forwarded for this listing is: "The needs of the listing are solidly satisfied with this ambient ethereal track."
