Driver's Ed Course Details?

Post by Razor7Music » Mon Nov 05, 2012 8:47 am

Hey Folks--

Anytime I'm new to a forum I hesitate to post a question with concern someone is going to point out the answer in some obvious place where I should have found it myself. Having said that, I'm having a little challenge locating the details of the RR by merely navigating the Taxi site. What I've been doing instead is typing my question into Google and finding most of the answers on the Taxi site that way.

Enough of my disclaimer, and on to my question: There are a couple of overlapping classes where both topics sound very pertinent to me, so I was wondering if there are any more details on the class topics outside of the course titles that will help me decide which one to attend?

Also, if a course starts and I realize it's not what I thought, is it too bad of form to quietly excuse myself and head over to another course?

Hey, thanks!

Stephen

I don't remember if they post more of a description of the classes or not as we get closer. But I dont think so. If you post which classes you're thinking about, it's possible someone around here has gone to it and can tell you a bit more. Also, a number of people will share their notes from the class, so you can make arrangements to meet in the "Dot Lounge" to discuss what you missed.

As for leaving a class, happens all the time. Some classes are in smaller rooms than others so it feels a little strange to get up and leave. It's best to sit near the back if you think you might leave. But people do come and go.

Actually, they usually DO post that info ahead of time, usually also including more info on the mentor's that are available for the 1-on-1 sessions as well. At the very latest, once you register on Thursday, you'll get a "goodies bag" and it should have a schedule in there with more detailed info on each class. At least, that's how it's been the last 4 years I've been there.

Thank you both-- and I can for sure make up my mind with more details on the courses provided in the goodie bag! I’m just presuming to know the topics by the course titles—which are pretty descriptive, I must say.

Here are the conflicts I have. If anyone already knows more about the topics than what you get from the course titles, I’d appreciate your input.

The science of switching on is by Stephen Memel, it is a live performance confidence building class. Stephen Memel is a voice coach, performance coach.... at least that is the way I remember it..

You know, as soon as I typed that I thought - I wonder if that is correct. Thanks for correcting my Big Blue - you are, as always, correct.

And now that I think of it, I always looked at the mentor bios and the class description on the plane.

Awesome! Since I no longer perform, that solves that time-slot for me.

I'm going to check out the bios as was suggested as well.

Hey--

I found more course details when I opened the Word (or PDF) version of the Driver's Ed classes here: http://www.taxi.com/rally/generalinfo2012.html

I guess I was always looking at the grid version only.

Kewl! 8-)
