Guest protocol?

Post by remmet » Mon Oct 29, 2012 9:58 pm

For those who've had guests at the Rally, I'm wondering about the protocol for their registration and attendance. Does your guest need to register at the same time as you? Or can they arrive at their convenience and say "I'm ___'s guest" and get their name-tag and material?

Thanks to anyone who can clear this up. :)

Richard

I'm pretty sure as long as they have their ID with them they can register any time and you don't need to be there.

Check with taxi to be 100% sure.

I would call Taxi cause I think I read somewhere that you have to both be present. Not sure if you can register and then go wait with them again or if it must be done at the same time.

Hi Richard...

My guest (at last year's Rally) showed up a few hours after me and was able to register by stating he was my guest.. with zero issues. You should have already notified TAXI that you will have a guest, so he/she will be in the system... See you there Richard! -- Andy

I'd love to attend the Rally this weekend. I went last year and had a blast!
Last year I was an official Taxi member,
but this year I'm hoping to find an amazing person who is willing to let me attend the rally as their guest.
Do you know of anyone with an unused guest pass? Any advice for me?
I'm planning to drive down to L.A. today and take my chances that some kind person will help.
Thanks,
Thor

Yes, that's true... They need a photo ID, that's all.

It so happens that my guest just decided to JOIN Taxi! - and I'm waiting to hear if she reserved/received a ticket for herself, or if for any reason she still needs to be my guest (like if no more tickets were available). If she doesn't need to be my guest, I'd be happy to let you use my guest pass. I expect to hear from her soon, so let me know if you still need a pass.

They just go to the lounge and buy me a Blue Moon and I will personally escort them to the registration desk. I will claim I am Richard Emmet.

And since I'll claim that I'm you, Dave, I should remind everyone: I'm not taking CDs this year! :)
