Chips Ahoy

Post by RobertCanary » Sat Nov 17, 2012 8:20 pm

My 8 year old son is writing a pirate adventure for his class...and he wanted a theme song...so he and I sat down and did this over the past couple day. Yes, its paste here and paste there...but some of the instruments are actually him (the French Horns) on keyboard and he did select the instruments....I put it all together and well...CHIPS AHOY mates!!!

Love it! I have some of my favorite songs from interacting with my students (middle schoolers) or my kids (7 and 10).
Does this happen often? That's probably the most epic 8 year old pirate song I've ever heard! :0

Nice track! All the orchestral instruments in particular sound fantastic (ie. as if they were recorded by real players). I love that trumpet hook.

If you don't mind me asking, which sound library did you use?

I am using MAGIX library. But my son and I did created the "louder" orchestra hits...and the harps...and the piano at the end and the strings in the slower part. My favorite part is the French Horns that come in on the last "chorus". I've always wanted to have a "french horn" do something like that and it sounded so cool. We had a blast making it. It took about four hours to do, but great father/son time. He's only 8. But since he has grown up on STAR WARS, and other music of John Williams/James Horner, he is really into this song we did and plays it NON STOP. Fun stuff
