first post here putting the horse before the cart

I am on a month's vacation in texas and only have my acoustic with me

I wrote a song with the ugly duckling/swan senario with my granddaughter Rachel.

I used the same quirky guitar pattern of the blood sweat and tears (and when I die) Boom chich chick boom chick.

It sounds pretty good musically at this point, but I thought for the first time I would post the lyrics and see if they are in acceptable format. I know they are a little out there. I can blame some on Rachel (8 years old) ha ha

Love your input so when I get home I can whip this out.

Sincerely

Paul

Ma ma says

I know my teeth are kinda crooked. I broke my glasses had to put some-tape-on-them
These are my sister’s clothes they don’t fit so good
I would buy new ones, yes I would, if I could, but I can’t

prechorus

The other kids talk about me. It makes me wanna go hide
I can hear them whispering. It really hurts inside

chorus

Ma ma says I’ll be pretty some day. It just takes a little time.
Ma ma says they’ll want to dance with me. They’ll have to stand in line

Things are better since my pimples are gone. Nobody’s pointing and saying I’m ug-a-ly
There’s a nice boy Bobby been walkin me home
I always prayed this is how it might be

Ma ma said I’d be pretty some day. It just takes a little time
Ma ma said they’d wanna dance with me. Now they're standin in line.

bridge

Kids were so mean when I was thirteen
Together so cruel they forgot about the golden rule but
Thankfully, while growing old is compulsory, growing up remains optional!
