I am a classically trained harpist. I've done music and songwriting for years; had started doing some Nashville pitches and getting some interest before I lost my job and my life fell apart etc. Anyway, I moved and got a new job and after I got settled in last year, I decided to re-commit to my goal of getting my music out there somewhere

I've had several TAXI forwards, which were highly encouraging, so I decided to attend the Rally. What a brilliant move! I was soooo fortunate to meet some really fabulous people. I got some really encouraging feedback, and of course the sessions were awesome.
Anyway, I'd like to continue that feeling of belonging in a music community, so I've started hanging out in the forum a bit. I hope to get to know y'all.
Eventually, I also hope to get some feedback from people on what is working (or not) with my harp tracks. I get pegged as New Age almost immediately and maybe that is my true genre and I am just stubborn! But, I don't listen to New Age, I prefer stuff like U2, Foster the People, or even Gangnam style (LOL), so it kinda rubs me wrong. What I'm trying to do is achieve a new sound/genre that includes the harp. The screeners I talked with really liked the sound of the harp; what I'm trying to do now is put it with the right groove. After the rally, I have much better tools in approaching this problem.
However, if anyone does great grooves and you want to experiment with incorporating some harp into your grooves, or putting a groove to some harp tracks, email me wenda@harpmusic.info and we can trade files etc. I put this on the collaborator's forum also. I just got DrumCore and shall start my evil experiments pronto.
To wrap up, I just feel so blessed and appreciative of all the wonderful people I met and the feedback and encouragement that was shown me at the Rally. What an experience.
Chat me up.
