My first forward

Post by katmarsh1 » Mon Dec 03, 2012 10:22 am

I joined Taxi about a month ago and received a forward on my first submission, yay! It's helped me to listen to other people's successfully forwarded tracks, to get an idea of the type of songs/production that make it through, so I thought it would help to post my track.

Here's the brief -

MAJOR PUBLISHING COMPANY needs AMAZING SONGWRITERS in the style of Kara Dioguardi, Sia, Bonnie McKee, etc., to write songs for/with HUGE POP ARTISTS. QUOTING THE SOURCE: "We want someone to come and write songs, and possibly sing the hook for them as wellÉ This could be a great opportunity for the right songwriter to have access to BIG artists. We want to hear clever songs with KILLER hooks." They're looking for extremely well-crafted songwriting with very strong and indelible melodies. Your fresh hooks are key here! All tempos are welcome. Your vocal and instrumental demo presentation absolutely must be top-notch! Please submit two to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Friday, November 9, 2012. TAXI #Y121109PO

Here's my track, All Messed Up -

Here's to many more! Cheers... -- Andy

You're amazing... being able to sing AND play the bass like you do AND do your own damn background vocals and LIVE!!! Whew!! Girl... you got it goin' on!!!!

Just listening on a really crappy computer tower speaker in my office, but even on this abysmal "sound system" (does a single 2-inch speaker even count as a sound system?), I can see why you got the forward here. And this appears to be a really high-bar ultra-competitive listing, so mucho congrats to you! Something like this could be a great springboard for you!! Hope to hear more good news from you later.
