Barry,

you're fabulous! :-)
I'm sitting in clinic right now and had a bad day [side effects and "the runs" etc.] I was kind'a lamenting on my condition.
Now that I saw your picture I'm "lifted up". This is really cool :-)

Keep going!

Walter

@Chuck... I pan my guitars 100% hard left and right for the rhythm tracks, dead center for solo tracks (and occasionally some melodic parts get panned hard left or right). I use that EQ method that I linked to earlier for my guitars. I've recently started using some Impulse Responses for my guitar tracks as well. Really don't use delays that much at all. I also go through and edit all of my tracks and use High Pass and Low Pass filters on every track, getting rid of unneeded/unwanted frequencies. I also pretty much only use subtractive EQ techniques, rarely if ever do I boost. Hope that helps!

@Julio.. thanks man!

@Desire... Nope, I don't take it the wrong way at all. While it was a lot of hard work, honestly, it wasn't nearly as difficult as I expected it to be. I found a system that worked for me and I just did the work every day. Thanks!

@Walter... Glad I was able lift your spirits! Hope you're feeling better today!

ANd you sir are very kind and generous with your info and my new Taxi hero. Seriously, 1000 placements is a huge accomplishment. And gives the big in bigbluebarry a whole new spin which apparently could be a help now ( hitting you up on weight loss tips next). I host a facebook forum on home recording and also shared your article there (as well as links to other favorited taxi composers). I have gone through and given it a listen and have to say the difference is astounding, and that "fizz" as discussed was one of the things that made me shy away in the past from amp sim software. But to give a thumbs up here , loving Amplitube. But yes in some settings the "fizz" remains. And the article adresses that nicely. I am finding that it is less an issue in that particular software if you use a clean amp setting and either your own favorited external distortion pedal or one of the included ones. But even then, at least sitting down listening to it last night, going back and forth between using my FUlltone OCD and some of the included software distortion pedals, very close, maybe close enough to make it negligible. Thanks again, Barry.

What a great story and journey, Barry. SO proud of you.
Although, Small Blue Barry just doesn't have that ring! :)
Congrats on all your musical successes and weight loss. Sky is the limit, my friend!

Thanks Buc and Keith! And you're right, Small Blue Barry just doesn't have the same ring does it? Guess I'll just have to keep the Big in there :-)

Here's a link to a document that will help make your guitars sound more convincing, regardless of which plug-in you use, crs7string shared it with me awhile back and it made a big difference in my guitar sound. Hope you find it helpful too - http://www.harmonycentral.com/docs/DOC-1652.pdf
Hi! Anyone know what the title of this pdf is? The link doesn't work anymore, but I reckon I perhaps could find it with google if I knew the title. Or perhaps someone's got it? Thanks in advance for any help ;)

All the best!
