Question in regards to listing #D130109RT

Post by briandavidwatson » Fri Jan 11, 2013 6:40 pm

Hey, just wondering if somebody could shed some light on this. I asked about this in this thread, but thought I would repost so it doesn't fall through the cracks.

http://forums.taxi.com/topic102461.html

Mazz got a forward for this listing (#D130109RT) and I congratulate him, but he submitted a song that was a minute and a half long, when the listing asked for something that's at least 2 mins long. Now look, I'm not attempting to throw Mazz under the bus at all, in fact I think the 2 minute thing is pretty arbitrary (and apparently taxi does too). I withheld submitting songs that I felt would fit better but were only a minute or so long as well, and instead opted for ones that met the time requirment, they both got returned (I was pretty sure they would, but you never know).

My question is, does this happen often? Obviously the vibe of the piece is the most important part, but I didn't want to submit stuff and have them say "this is on target but too short."

Again, I'm not trying to complain, just curious about this sort of thing. Thanks guys.
