Copyrighting songs

This may sound very basic, but it is a problem of cost. With each submission to taxi should I copyright every song?
I would think one would have to, but, then, that could get very expensive. Is there a cheaper way to protect one's material with out the hight cost.

A copyright costs 65 dollars, if you mail it in. Electronically it costs 35 dollars, but at the moment the government doesn't take the
Safari browser only the Internet Explorer(IE). So I have to use snail mail. Any suggestions.

go to a library and upload your songs if you can't change browsers on your computer...register the songs as a collection (I use form SR) but I write,record and perform all my stuff..you may have a different situation but still should be able to register songs as a collection...doing it this way not only saves you $ but also leaves the copyright open to add to for as much as a month at times...so if inspiration strikes during those weeks you can simply add that song to the collection and not have to pay the $35.00 again..hope that helped..

i copyright reg. in bulk (midi and lyrics in the same zip-file (MUST be zip if you bulk, it seems) at the us copyright office. makes it very cheap pr. work this way.

another issue: why copyright reg. at all if it costs 75.000 usd to even take it to federal court???!!!
