It's about loving someone who's gone and learning how to get back on your feet and finding your own strengths. As compared to kissing a rodent? A guy? A car? A thousand-dollar bill?

I've had the same experience with other songs... just not liking, getting it, or understanding how it "made it" ........ However a twist of perspective for all to keep in mind: - Have ya ever sat down with somebody and just enjoyed the hell out a movie - only to read a proffessionals review days later - and find they just ripped the hell out of the thing - two thumbs down! ...You put the article down saying "WTF?... I enjoyed myself, was it that bad?" .... It kinda mirrors what were doing here... forgetting to put ourselves in the average persons shoes. All they know is they like it and thats all that matters to them. Unfortunatley it's not up to the average person if our songs get cut - as was already said we have to penetrate "the machine" first. Just a unique experience / perspective I always keep in mind. At least in our case were learning from the ripping process, theres a good side to it. Chris

I'm not sure it's up to the average person to choose what's a hit. They're force fed through Clear Channel until I'm not sure they know what's making them happy or not. If you listen to a song long enough, it's a bit like brainwashing, you'll learn to like it. So probably we'd do better figuring out what the suits want before we figure out what the public wants.

So did the song stall out??What happened? I thought we were rolling along nicely. Especially when we brought the ghost dog into the picture!

You hint at something else that makes a good point.... its not too often I really LOVE a song first listen.. it can take a time or two. I'm not sure if this is simply 'cracking the egg' like a TV commercial (your just too dam distracted first few times it comes on to really catch the message) But love at first listen dose happen... theres that ocasional song I just love 100% first time I hear it and gotta have it/hear it again.... they have not always gone on to be top ten hits either.
