32bit VST's in 64bit DAW
Upgrading my studio system to 64-bit I ran across a problem with 32bit VST's not being recognized by the DAW. The manufacturer of my DAW pointed me to jBridge http://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/
This has been recommended in the TAXI forums before, but I thought I would resurrect the info. jBridge does a wonderful job of bridging those 32bit VST's. There is also a Mac version.
jBridge also works the other way, bridging 64bit VST's to 32-bit.

Re: 32bit VST's in 64bit DAW
Yes, JBridge is very good and very reasonably priced, but doesn't work with all VSTs.
I have both versions of my DAW installed (x64 & x86) so I can open one version, freeze a track...then switch back (to the other version) in order to use some of my old 32bit VSTs that don't work with JBridge.

Re: 32bit VST's in 64bit DAW
I haven't come across any 32bit VST's that don't work yet, but I haven't gone through everything. I noticed on the jBridge site, comments about some VST's not working, but the comments seemed old. Are you using jBridge v1.5? I did find some newer Steinberg VST's (I think they were VST3's) that the GUI didn't show up on when they were loaded... jBridge site mentioned how to get the GUI to load if nothing showed up, so I will go back and check those.
I am staying away from some of my MUCH older VST's (like the EVP73
) it's time to move into the 21st century I think.

Re: 32bit VST's in 64bit DAW
I use Sonar and I've been on 64 bit everything for a while now. The only 32 bit VST's that I still use periodically are the old Steinberg Virtual Guitar things (acoustic and electric). Those are *old* and they were problematic in a 32 bit environment but interestingly enough, became more stable in the 64 bit environment. No additional software has been necessary for 32-bit VST's to work in the Sonar 64 bit environment.

Yes, there are some (DAWs) that have their own bridge. And there are some (DAWs) that integrate jBridge. And then there are some (DAWs) like mine that you have to install a bridge.

Re: 32bit VST's in 64bit DAW
I had to use jBridge in cubase to get my ubk compressor to work. Luckily they sorted out the 64bit version so I don't need the bridge anymore, but when I was using it it worked great

I use it with Cubase 7 with no issues either. JBridge was a life saver for me, works like a charm!
