My duo 2Late has entered its tenth year, and we're working on an album 10Years 2Late. We thought it'd be nice to have a title track, so I'm working on one. My female partner would sing this. What do you think?
Ten Years Too Late
by Michael B. Short © 2013
Imagine my surprise when there on the phone
I find a message for me from you
My heart takes a leap back to when we were young
And dreaming of us was all I'd do
But that was then and this is now
Chorus
And you're ten years
Too late
Ten years more than I was willing to wait
You reappear
Come back here
Try to say it's fate
But you're ten years too late
On my favorite night we lie back in your truck
And try to count the stars in the milky way
You invent constellations to make me laugh
I remember them all to this day
But that was then and this is now
Chorus
Bridge
On my birthday you held both my hands
And told me there's a whole world to see
One week later you packed your truck
With everything you had but me
Break
Chorus
Ten Years Too Late (country)

Re: Ten Years Too Late (country)
Hi Mike, that first verse is so natural, and really gets the readers attention. and that bridge! I just like the whole write.
