I have to agree with most of the posters here so far, in that listening/feedback is usually best done by people that have some sort of connection with the genre or if something is obvious to ones ears- and there is something constructive to be said.

One of the things that catches my attention is when someone gives feedback that I can tell really took some time and thought to craft- and then I try and make a mental note when I can say something intelligent back for that person posts.

I still listen to a lot but simply haven't had time to comment. This is a music community and above and beyond all the reasons mentioned above by others, sometimes we're on schedules and while it takes little time to listen, it takes more time and energy to offer meaningful feedback.

Russell Landwehr wrote:OK, Jon G, I did a bit of sleuthing, and I can now say specifically why I personally didn't comment on your request for feedback on your producer/remix topic when I checked it out over the weekend. I can't speak for anyone else or any other posting, but here you go...

You were shooting for one of those producer/remixer things where a "she" songwriter is looking for people with good work ethics to team up with.

On your soundcloud site there are two songs. One is by Brandy, the other is Esthero.

I've never heard either of the songs before, have no idea how your remix is different from the original, and wasn't going to spend the time to research specific songs in a style of music I don't have a clue about anyway. On top of that, I'm not sure if the taxi listing was wanting a remix of an already existing popular song, or if they are wanting something original that showcases production technics, so I couldn't even speak to whether you were even on-target for the listing... couldn't speak to the quality since you were already using pre-produced material...

There are just to many "don't know" "don't have a clue" things there... Hell, I don't even know enough about this to even tell if it sucks or not!

I'll sign this:
Unhelpful but a bit less confused,

actually I remember seeing that post too and briefly checking out the tunes on Soundcloud. Same deal, wouldn't know what to say about it.
