Nashville Demo Studio
I tried to search this, but couldn't find anything - maybe I'm doing the search wrong.
It looks like Nashville Demo Studio is out of business. Any thoughts for those with work in progress?
I have instrumentals from them without vocals.
I don't care about the money paid to them - fortunes of war - but would like to finish the project without starting from square one.

Re: Nashville Demo Studio
It would be a shame if they're out of business. But I know they were going through some pretty significant changes last year.
While I'll continue to hope that NDS is not gone, if I were you I would try contacting some of the staff of the company directly by email or phone. I'd expect there's a good chance your work is intact and could be completed even if under a different brand name than NDS.

Ross
Yup, they are out of business and gone for good.
Visit the Nashville Demo Studio group page on Facebook. Scroll down to older posts. There are some folks who used to work there that are helping customers get their source files, finish projects, etc. If you PM me, I can give you contact info for someone that helped me get some things squared away. Please do not contact them or me about money issues. Can't help there.

Re: Nashville Demo Studio
Sad to say, this is nothing new. People have been getting ripped off in Music City for a very long time.
It is a very, very small percentage though. Most are legit.
If people on the forum are interested in demos there are plenty of us Taxi members here in Nash. that most of you know. We can help writers get good quality demos at a fair price.
Not tooting my own horn, but I have been in Nash. since 1980 and some of best friends are A team session players.
I'm not alone many of us here could put a world class studio band together with a few phone calls.
Maybe Taxi members have a need for this service. Input?
We have a monthly Taxi hang at recording studio, maybe we should brainstorm this.

I echo Bruce. If folks are interested, the Nashville Taxi folks will help. We are all in for the long run.

Re: Nashville Demo Studio
I just wanted to point out that that TV 'news' report is totally inaccurate and contains just about 0 research and facts. The people who ran NDS were not rip off artists. They were well meaning, hard working folks who, for a number of reasons (some of them outside their control) got in way over their heads. They produced great demos at a very fair price for many people while in business, including for lots of Taxi members. They also put on some really great events that helped a lot of people's careers.
I feel terrible for the people who lost money and/or works in progress due to the unfortunate and unprofessional way NDS went out of business, and I fully understand that they would want to pursue all possible avenues to try and recover the money they lost.
But for a so called news station to do zero research and rip someone to shreds just for a quick ratings boost...that's just really sad...

Re: Nashville Demo Studio
Matto, that was my reaction as well when I saw the news story. I only worked with NDS on one recording in 2012, but they were total pro's, great reps and years of experience in Nashville music. I hope that the people who lost money will be made whole and I don't blame them for being angry, as I would be in their shoes. Until the business folded, I saw nothing but positive feedback from their customers.
