Helpful critique from reviewer #309

Post by ochaim » Wed Jun 26, 2013 9:39 pm

This isn't the first time my submissions were reviewed by #309. In a previous listing, he even gave me the dubious distinction of returning a track that he really liked, but it just wasn't right for the listing. That gave me a lot of confidence in a direction of recording style I hadn't really explored much.

Despite being a return, the feedback was really helpful because listening back to the tracks, I completely agree with the assessment. Fortunately, one of them will only require some tweaking to get it much more competitive and there's another similar listing next week to see how well I improved it.

Originally, I was going to say this critique was both helpful and confusing because the feedback made reference to "commercial appeal in Top 40" where this isn't exactly mentioned in the listing description. But I won't split hairs here, I'll take that I should have interpreted "highly competitive" to mean "competitive in Top 40" in the future.

Cheers!
CONTEMPORARY RAP/HIP HOP TRACKS (BEATS) that would appeal to the fans of "Faded" by Tyga, "Wild For The Night" by A$AP Rocky, "R.I.P." by Young Jeezy ft. 2 Chainz, etc., are needed by a really awesome Industry Veteran working with a high profile rapper who needs tracks for his upcoming project. He's just about ready to go into the studio, and we want to give him some fresh, highly competitive beats that sound super current and contemporary. Avoid old school, off-the-shelf beats, and show them that you're on the leading edge of what's cool. Please, please, please do NOT sample any other artists' songs or sounds for this listing!! ALL TEMPOS will be considered. Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Tuesday, June 4, 2013. TAXI #S130604HH
