Air Gigs is panning out so far! Pleasantly surprised!

Post by NathanNasby » Mon Jul 15, 2013 6:40 pm

Well, you know how we often sign up on these marketing websites and try to promote our music services! A while ago someone posted about looking for professional demo artists and a few different sites were mentioned. After I saw that post I got digging around and in my usual skeptical nature laughed at myself while I set up an account with air gigs, thinking nothing would ever come of it. Much to my surprise not only are they so far turning out to be legitimate, but for me at least, they are turning out to be a decent source of revenue.

I've had several successful well paying gigs through them and it looks like more will likely be on the way. It's nice to have those extra little sources of revenue from places like that. I have a listing for male lead vocals on the site and I just thought I'd pass on my experience with them. I know it's always good to hear from people that are using a service like that and it's actually working out.

Hi Nathan

Glad its working out for you. Think that might have been my thread looking for suggestions :) as it happens I ended up using someone on there recently and its turned out well.

What do you do in terms of use of any tracks you sing on ? If say the version you sang on got used, what do you ask for in terms of mechanicals or do you treat it as a work for hire session session fee ?

wow! this site is really cool! kinda reminds me of fiverr.com

Nathan, your demos sound fantastic on your page. Party Time is right up my alley! You offer a Taxi rate? ;)

Signing up to offer my rap vocals is tempting, but I'd imagine that's probably not something in very demand.

Judging from all the services provided, you can probably outsource your whole song from start to finish and own it!

Yeah Silver, haha I think you're right. Thanks for the connection.

I'm just working out the kinks as I work with artist. So far with 2 of the tracks it's been a vocalist for hire. I'm not doing any creative work, as far as lyric or melody revisions, though I'm considering offering those services, as the quality of songwriters I've worked on has been a touch sketchy. Songs with a lot of potential, but they could use a lot of work and go from good songs to great songs.

Hey, I'd throw a gig on there for rap vocals. There isn't much right now for male or female vox in that style, so if anyone does go there for that kind of work, You're going to be at the top of the list.

Ochaim - There seem to be more and more pro studio sites like this popping up. I've had a half a dozen solicit me to set up a profile and advertise there. Pop expert, studio traxx, Vocal pro and a couple others.

A great venue as I'm discovering for providing a little extra cash while I'm waiting for those forwards and deals to roll in haha.

Yes, from writer, editing services to mixing and mastering, it seems like the whole range or music production is there. Might get pricy for an entire production unless you have a guaranteed return on your investement, but you can def have a pro result that an individual might not be able to produce on their own, and that could be the difference between a deal and a door in the face.

A taxi rate - haha, that might be worth considering. I'm flexible depending on the project, so if you need anything send me a pm and we'll talk.

I love this community and all you artists are tops in my books so working with you all is something I'd love to do more of!
