"Who Let The Werewolves Out?" (Aka, "Full-moon Honeymoon")

Post by simonsays » Sun Jul 14, 2013 1:14 pm

Which title do you favor?
I'm still fairly early in the editing process ... so I'm very open to both specific and general suggestions. I know. The rhyme scheme, and # of lines don't match. :( I'm also using CAPS for accentuation, not just punctuation.

Album: No Sh!t
Song: "Who Let The Werewolves Out?" (aka, Full-moon Honeymoon)
Copyright Steve Simon 2013

(1st Verse)
1 For our Full-moon Honeymoon
2 My bride I naively let choose
3 She booked us an Alaskan Dog-Lovers Cruise
4 stocked at the dock with Meat-Lovers Food

(2nd Verse)
1 My wife's brood all had hounds
2 To be locked in cabins all bound sound
3 When no free pounds could be found ...
4 No one questioned their Hysterical Howls
5 Till a housekeeper tried to change some Towels

(Chorus)
1 Howl, Howl ... who let the Werewolves out?
2 Howl, Howl ... who let the Werewolves out?
3 Howl, Howl ... who let the Werewolves out?

(3rd Verse)
1 My wife was being Bitchy
2 Complained her clothing was all Itchy
3 And when I asked if it was ... 'her time of the month'
4 with a wolfish smile she growled ... Uh Huh!

(Repeat Chorus)

(Bridge)
1 Her scent was -- So Musky
2 Her voice -- Sexy Husky
3 And when she whispered raspy ...
4 You scratch my back ... I'll scratch yours
5 In hind sight, that was a warning, of course

(Repeat Chorus)

I like "Who Let..." as the title.

Very funny premise.

Calling the bride "Bitchy" is really funny. I feel like the "clothing itchy" is there to rhyme, rather than advance the story, though. The second line in the first verse seems awkward in construction, too.

Very close, and very funny. Enjoy polishing this.

i definetly like the line "full moon honeymoon" best, simply because of the sound and rhyme of it. but since the other line is repeated throughout the whole chorus, i'd stick with the latter as the title. another option is, of course to rewrite the song so the other line will fit best.

And there's no reason not to call it:

Thanks. I try to be original. I'm glad you like it.

Perfect rhymes can seem that way sometimes. :(

Yeah, It's a first draft. I'm definitely going to need to work on it when I get back from my vacation.

Thanks again Mike. I always have a blast working on these types of songs. Thanks for your feedback.

Since it is a send up of "Who let the dogs out" ... I'm inclined to go with my first option. Although Mike's suggestion does have its merit IMO.

I just got around to some editing on this. :( I dropped V2,L3 and reversed the chorus lines. All thoughts appreciated.
