couple of questions from a newbie

Post by leeblack » Thu Jul 25, 2013 12:52 pm

Hi... I'm relatively new to Taxi. I have two questions that I've looked for on the boards but haven't been able to find.

1. Since I joined in late March I've made 28 submissions and have had 12 forwards. Excited about the forwards, but still no response from the listing companies. For those of you who have reached some kind of deal with the company your material was forwarded to, how much time passed between the forward and contact from the listing company? I know I just need to move on to the next thing and not think about the "what if's." Easier said than done! I realize folks are busy, but sure do wish I could hear something definitive, even if it's a "no."

2. How are the actual forwards made? CD of my song burned and mailed? Maybe some kind of page created with all the forwards and link emailed to the listing company? Or is there a link of my page emailed to the listing company? Wondering how much time I need to spend on my personal page to make it look its best - with pictures, bio, questionnaire, and, etc.

Thanks!
Lee

Lee, I've been with Taxi almost a year and am in the same boat; about a dozen forwards but no deal... yet. Hard to tell when and where it will happen. Keep plugging away especially with what you're good at. No idea about your second question. All the best!

COngrats on the forwards. Those are nice numbers! As you must have guessed by now, there's no hard and fast rules. Some companies in a big hurry will obviously contact you right away, others may take months (for whatever reason). That being said, common sense would suggest that if the longer you don't hear back, the smaller the chances you wil hear from that company. I do agree it would be nice to at least get some kind of response.

I don't think you need to worry too much about your Taxi page, as I'm pretty sure Taxi won't ask their clients to visit a dozen seperate pages and have them click on whatever songs you submitted. I'm sure they're sent either a cd or a nice and easy download pack.

Of course you could also ask Taxi this directly by email or phone.

Best
Jay
